The Moon Bio

5......4......3......2......1......Booster Ignition......Lift-off! Rocketing into orbit - revolving around Earth - originating from their launch pad in The Netherlands - comes the rock band The Moon. The music has been described as ‘The Who meets The Beatles’ - the kind of music that’s fun yet thought-provoking containing melodies with lyrics to sing along to! But let’s not be restrictive here...The Moon’s musical selections run the genre gamut ranging from country-rock to pop to hard rock to rock with a slightly cutting edge - a striking variety with something for everyone!

The Moon (possibly known as the ‘second fab four’) features the prolific songwriting duo of former Sleeze Beez members lead vocalist Andrew Elt and guitarist Don van Spall. When you hear the songs these guys pen, you’ll understand why they are compared to ‘The Fab Four’! The synchronous drummer John Snels (Vengeance) along with Paul Martin on punchy bass and piano round out the rhythm section’s intensity. Both blend their instrumental talents with Don and Andrew to create an explosive catapult moving in complete harmony. You will find The Moon’s music a marked departure from the likes of the hard rockers the Sleeze Beez once cranked out. It’s an evolution representing a new-found maturity and a pleasurable sincerity in lyrical content with a very convivial and somewhat raw-edged musical affectation.

The Moon’s leader and frontman Andrew Elt has this to say about the music of The Moon: "The new stuff is a far cry from anything you’d expect from us. We wrote all the songs on acoustic guitar so we’re forced to pay more attention to the SONG and the vocal melodies as opposed to filling everything with powerchords. For us, it’s a breath of fresh air." Adjust your intake valves to breathe it all in!

With a vigorous performance by a troupe of experienced musicians and singer/songwriters, The Moon’s live show will energize and electrify with their powerful rock songs like Ain’t Losin’ My Way and All You Get, yet also evoke a mood of reflective tranquility and peace with their heartfelt ballads What Do I Know and Everyday.

The Moon’s debut CD on Surgeland Records, Inc. is due for release on April 21, 1998, and is sure to invade the Billboard charts shortly thereafter. John, Paul, Don and Andrew have intricately woven together a collection of music for their self-titled CD that is sure to woo the hearts and wow the ears of youngsters and oldsters alike - a collage of songs that will embrace you while their themes touch on everyday life and then shuttle your spirit off to another planet. The Moon’s music can take you there! Hop on for the ride!!

The Moon's self-titled debut CD is available through CD Baby.
