Currently based in Kennesaw, GA, jazz/r&b/reggae multi-talented musician
Derek Godette came halfway round the world to make his home. His original
birthplace was Guyana, South America. Fluent as a lyricist, instrumentalist, vocalist,
producer and arranger, Derek released his album "We Belong Together" after
studying jazz guitar at Flatbush School of Music in Brooklyn, NY. He received a
few years of vocal lessons and was eventually offered a recording contract by
Blockmasters Productions out of Minneapolis, MN. With a flair for charm and a
great sense of humor, Derek has attracted sizable audiences at his shows in
Minnesota, Florida and California as he performs his music reminiscent of Bob
Marley, Prince, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Otis Redding and
Elton John. In Minneapolis, Derek sat in with the Maroons and the Reggae Allstars
and performed for the People of Ethiopia Benefit held in the Twin City. Derek
has received achievement awards for songs entered in the New York ProAm Song
Jubilee and the Hollywood Song Jubilee. His CD "We Belong Together" features
some of the finest R&B, pop and reggae songs, has received airplay nationally
and internationally, and continues to receive airplay in Minneapolis/St. Paul,
MN. For more info about Derek Godette, please contact Sandy Serge at SergeEnt@aol.com.
