Cherokee County Music Society Meeting Minutes - May 12, 2008

Mark handed everyone a flyer with information regarding the steps that it takes to be a famous recording artist.

Mark mentioned that Atlanta has a lot of contacts regarding getting your image together and your showmanship so that the performer will know how to entertain people.Perhaps sponsoring a school event.

Various Discussions

Little River Grille - Sandy mentioned that they will not let us charge a cover charge. They will not give us a percentage of beverage and food sales and will we will probably not use them in the future.

Mark will be working on The Place letting us perform there in August. Sandy wants Mark to talk to The Place to see if they will also give us a percentage of the food and beverage sales so that the performers will get paid.

The Tavern has agreed to Sunday Nights and okay to have cover charge.

July 4th - we will have a booth setup for that day and will have our artist to perform their songs at the booth. We will also need people to work the booth, give out our buttons, flyers and let people know about our Organization. Need to get more members.

There is an issue that when we do have our showcase nights and our singer/songwriter nights that all performers need to stay during the entire show because we need everyone to support each other. 

The performers NEED to bring their fans so that we can have a packed house when we have our events.

We would like to have our own Festival but we need more members.

Outer Edge has gone out of business and we do not have them to support us anymore.

Santiago mentioned getting the local dealerships involved. Asking if the would perhaps sponsor an event. Mark will call on local dealerships and Carol will call on some as well.

Need to get our local Merchants involved, check to see if we can get more discounts for our members.

We discussed contacting Home Owner Associations and asking if we can have events at their club house, such as Bridgemill.

Mark said that Woodstock Highschool Direct will be willing to help us out. There was talk about having the High School bands to perform at upcoming events, such as battle of the bands. There was mention that we have a battle of the bands and it be competitive school against school.

Discussed having a seminar and clinic for our members and to be members.

Sandy is working on the Compilation CD.
