CCMS Meeting Minutes

Cherokee County Music Society Minutes
7-9PM Woodstock Coffee House

Five members were in attendance and then later during the meeting one more member arrived.

Items Discussed:
     •     Garage Sale - The majority decided to have the garage sale on October 25, 2008 of which will be held at Sandy Serge's home.
     1.     The starting time was discussed to begin around 8:00am and the ending time was decided to be around 3:00pm.
     2.     Every one will need to bring their items for sale to Sandy no later than Thursday on October 23rd.   If you are to put items in the Garage Sale you MUST label the items prior to dropping them off to Sandy.
     3.     CCMS ask that 10% of what you sale will go to CCMS. We would like for the funds to help with the completion of the Compilation CD.
     4.     We will need volunteers, entertainment and baked goods during the day of the sale. Sandy will be sending out a signup sheet for everyone so that we will have enough people throughout the day.
     5.     Sandy will take care of the advertisement with local papers but ALL members must promote the garage sale, such as listing this on your Myspace, placing flyers in various places through out Cherokee County and word of mouth.

     •     Mark will continue to call and search for various venues to hold our showcases.   There was a new place that opened up called Saddle Saloon, Mark will be calling upon this place.
     •     The Downtown Kitchen was a great success and Mark will ask about the seating arrangements for any future shows.
     •     Next Showcase will be at Downtown Kitchen on December 6th, 2008. This will also be our Christmas Party and awards show.
     •     Sandy mentioned to everyone about having an Entertainment Attorney to provide us with a Seminar. Sandy will be sending out more information regarding this at a later date.
     •     We discussed having a Songwriter Critique meeting. Someone will bring one song and have everyone to listen and give their views on the song. This will be a helpful critique to those who are just getting started or someone who is having difficulty with a song and not sure of the way it should be written and played.
     •     The referral incentive is still in place. If someone brings three members and they sign up to join CCMS, this person will receive a gift certificate.
     •     CCMS still has the Yahoo Group discussing, where everyone can post information and comments and find out from Sandy what is happening with CCMS.
