Soylent Green will perform two concerts together with two other rock bands and a 60 piece symphony orchestra, organized by the college of cultural manifestations in the south of The Netherlands on May 21 & 22. Live recordings are made of these concerts and they may appear as bonus tracks on singles or the new album.
Together with 10 other bands Soylent Green have been selected as one of the most promising upcoming Dutch bands. "No Clue" is therefore going to be released on a promotion album compiled by the Dutch National Music Association.
Soylent Green's CD "Nutrient" has been selected by the biggest regional newspaper in The Netherlands as best pop album of the year.
"Nutrient" has been selected by OOR (the biggest Dutch music magazine) as one of the 97 best releases in the year 1997 (note: not only out of the Dutch releases but worldwide!!!)
Soylent Green entered at No. 3 in the Lowlands Top 15 (a kind of hitlist for upcoming bands in Holland) and were selected as Band of the Year on Radio 3 NCRV (one of the largest national Pop stations).
Thanks to a record pool test through Ricketts Record Pool in New Jersey, "No Clue" and "Fly Like An Eagle" have received Very Good reviews in the DJ and Floor Response categories.
"No Clue" is currently in heavy rotation on KSNX - St. Louis and WTRR - Daytona/Orlando, Florida
KINK-FM, an alternative station in Holland, placed No Clue in the Top 41 (15th place) - no small feat for an up and coming band.
FRET, the Dutch association magazine of pop groups, placed Soylent Green third (with Bettie Serveert and Junkie XL at second and first place) on their best bands Top 10 list.
